‘Barron run’ to continue in 2014

For 2014, Barron Transport Services will once again proudly sponsor the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix supersport race.

Founded in 1970 by Billy Barron, this family run business are based close to the Dundrod circuit, employing 35 people and provide a range of services across the UK and Europe, including couriers, warehousing, air freight and vehicle hire.

Speaking as the sponsorship was announced, Clerk of the course Noel Johnston said: “Barron Transport Services have been a longstanding and loyal supporter of the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix and pure road racing. We welcome them once again this year and thank them for their continued commitment to the event.”

Billy Barron, founder of Barron Tranpsort, said: “ I’ve been following road racing now for over 50 years and the Ulster Grand Prix is undoubtedly one of my favourite events.

“We were fortunate enough to run our own BTS Racing team for a few years with riders like Guy Martin and Gary Johnston, and we haven’t ruled out a return to the paddock in the future.

“Nothing can replace the thrill and we wish all the organisers, riders and associates a very safe and successful weeks racing”.
