With the North West and the TT done and dusted, I hope you’re as excited as I am about the 2015 Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix. It’s all to play for at Dundrod.
Our official launch takes place this morning at the Crumlin Road Gaol and we have a great line up of riders in town to kick off events.
Ian Hutchinson, the man of the moment, will certainly get a great Irish reception.
Last season I could tell from his attitude that he was ready to do the business, but unfortunately his tools were not up for the job.
He left Dundrod on an all time low, but we all know what Hutchy is made of.
After a busy winter and changing teams he showed his intentions at North West and then had a sensational TT, winning three and finishing on the podium in the other two races.
Michael Dunlop will be coming to Dundrod trying to resurrect something from his below par season and who would rule him out?
Ulster Grand Prix specialist Guy Martin will be hoping to add to his winners tally as he blasts his BMW machinery over the County Antrim hills.
But never rule out good old Bruce Anstey, who is riding better than ever and is certainly in no mood to give up his title as the World’s Fastest Road Racer
This is just a little taster of what you can expect during Bike Week at The Metzeler Ulster Grand.
Entries close this week and over the coming weeks we will be releasing our entry list with some very exciting newcomers and talent throughout the field.
A lot of work has been going on at Dundrod since last year and David Wood Ulster Grand Prix House will be ready for this years race, and what an asset that will be to the event, having a permanent building on site.
On a sadder note we have lost a great friend at Dundrod this week in Eileen Luchi MBE, our First Aid liaison officer for many years. We offer our condolences to her husband Enzo at this sad time.
