Ulster Grand Prix joins the race to Beat Multiple Sclerosis

The MS Society has been announced as the official charity partner for the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix 2014. The charity, which campaigns for better services and support for people affected by MS, will be hosting a number of events during the Grand Prix to raise awareness of MS and funds to support MS research.

The charity is appealing for bike enthusiasts and general volunteers to come forward to support their fundraising activities during ‘Bike Week’ (Wednesday 13 August – Saturday 16 August).

Speaking at the launch of the UGP MS Society partnership, Tom Mallon, MS Society Fundraising Manager said: “We’re proud to announce our partnership with Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix. It’s a fantastic event and we hope that together we can support people with MS and raise awareness of the condition. There are 4000 people living with MS in Northern Ireland – one of the highest rates in the world.

“In order to make the most of this fantastic opportunity, we’re appealing for volunteers to come forward to help us with collections and events. We’ve got lots of exciting events planned including a family fun night on Friday 15 August where bike fans, young and old, can meet the riders!

“So whether you’re keen to shake a bucket, organize a raffle or manage an MS Society stall, we’ve got something for everyone. Volunteering during ‘Bike Week’ is a great way to help a local charity while also getting up close to all the action!”
