The legendary Dromara Destroyers, Brian Reid, Ian McGregor, Raymond McCullough and Trevor Steele have announced they are holding a ride out from Dromara to Dundrod as part of the MCE Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week festival.
They are calling for anyone who wishes to take part to join them at 19.00 on Tuesday 9th August at the Village Square in Dromara, County Down, where they will display a range of their classic motorbikes.
The convoy will leave Dromara at 19.30 sharp, travelling to the world famous Dundrod circuit for a lap before reconvening in the hospitality marquee in the paddock for a chat show and refreshments.
Noel Johnston, Clerk of the Course at the MCE UGP said: “The Dromara Destroyers were a force to be reckoned with in their competitive days, and remain very popular amongst the road racing community.
“Anyone is welcome to come along to take a look at the memorabilia on display in Dromara village centre and take part in the ride out with these four legendary riders. We expect this event to be well attended and look forward to welcoming Brian, Ian, Raymond and Trevor back to the home of the world’s fastest road race,” he added.
Councillor Tim Morrow, Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee added: “Over the past few years the Council has worked closely with the Dromara Destroyers when they exhibited at the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex.
“It is excellent news that these well-known racing legends will be taking to the roads to mark the 2016 MCE Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week and I hope that fellow motorcyclists will show their support for this local group and join them in Dromara or Dundrod.”
